Inspection Generator & Motor PM Service

Generator Preventive Maintenance

Turbine Electric provides comprehensive generator repair and maintenance services for Dona Ana County including Las Cruces, NM and Sunland Park, NM. Our preventive maintenance service provides reliability to ensure that the battery and engine are in top working condition to maintain optimum performance for a successful transfer of alternative power.

Our PM generator and transfer switch inspections service includes a PM inspection checklist which will help keep the generator system maintained. This includes inspection on all parts of the starting system such as batteries, controlling system, lubrication system, coolant system, fuel system, exhaust system and the transfer switch system. Followed by the replacement of all associated engine parts such as batteries, filters, fuel and radiator coolant as recommended by the manufacturer.

PM inspections service includes keeping housing enclosure and engine clean to prevent dust damage to parts, motor, generator and the potential of igniting a fire on oil and debris.

Electrical Motor Testing PM Service

Turbines electrical motor testing preventive maintenance involves a series of diagnostic procedures to assess the performance, health and efficiency of electric motors. It helps to identify potential issues early on, preventing costly downtime and ensuring safety.

Electrical insulation testing is applied to motors, wires, cables, generators, transformer switches and other electrical equipment. The insulation is subject to many conditions which can cause it to fail such as: mechanical damage, vibration, excessive heat or cold, dirt, oil, corrosive vapors, moisture from processes or just the humidity. With time these conditions combined with existing electrical stresses will eventually cause the insulation to develop pin holes or cracks. Allowing moisture and foreign matter to penetrate the surfaces of the insulation. This will cause a low resistance path for current leakage. Once started these various conditions tend to aid each other, permitting excessive current through the insulation.

With our Motor Evaluation Service we test voltage, amperage, thermal temperature, terminal lugs and connections up to the main disconnect panel. Allowing us to detect hot spots and determine the correct action. Our motor evaluation service includes a diagnosis of the motors integrity by meg-ohm testing and measuring insulation resistance to detect ground fault in motor winding and thermal reading. A motor diagnostic test can help determine the motors condition.
